Blog Post #1 - Final Project Idea
Concept for the Film
My idea for my final project is a fictional crime film, mainly set in a suburban neighborhood. The idea of the film is that there is a black-hooded killer, the antagonist being seen around this neighborhood, and whenever anyone sees this killer, they disappear. The protagonists will be the detectives, Ed and Fern, who are friends but argue with each other often, who have been sent out to figure out the origins of the killer. The names for these characters were influenced by names of people i know, one of which being myself.
My Idea For the Opening
The opening scene of the movie will be the two detectives in the office leaving their office. I’m unsure about the specifics at this point in time, but I have an idea of a close-up of the detectives' hands picking up car keys and their coats. This will transition into a scene of them driving down the road in a car, as a timelapse. This timelapse will be followed up by showing the detectives exiting the car to determine a location where a murder has been reported, inside a far-away suburban neighborhood. If there is enough time remaining within my allotted two minute time frame, the next scene will be set within a dimly lit room, featuring a black-hooded creature, crawling behind someone, taking them to the ground.
Schedule
I plan to post 4 blogs a week on the development of this project over time.
My plan is to be completely done with the project by the deadline, March 3rd. And to be more specific, I plan to be done with preproduction (planning it out), by January 28th, production (recording) by February 17th, and postproduction by February 28th
